Town Garden
This small town garden was dominated by fence panels and some cramped steps leading from the house to a sloping rectangle of lawn. Now the garden has been divided into two levels, introducing a small lawn surrounded by simple planting and a generous dining area.
A herringbone brick path links the house to the owner’s pottery studio at the bottom of the garden. The black painted fences unify the garden’s different zones whilst also disguising the boundaries and providing the perfect backdrop for the white stems of some Betula Jacquemontii trees.
“Nathalie completely understood what we wanted from our garden and her lovely design featured plants we had asked for, very cleverly placed with repeated planting of her suggestions. The result is a gorgeous balance of forms and flowering all within a delicate and restful colour palette. We so enjoy the spaces we have now, love all the plants, and in particular those that have brought all the bees to the garden. She also happens to be a really lovely person, easy to work with, friendly and professional, so I can’t recommend her highly enough!”
